At the 2017 Winter Guard International (WGI) Indoor Percussion & Winds World Championships, eight of the awards were earned by groups using Yamaha instruments exclusively. Since 1998, ensembles using Yamaha marching percussion instruments have captured over 116 medals.

In May, an unsuspecting Maysville High School football team traveled to the Browns training facility to watch practice and partake in a tour. At the end of the day, they were surprised with a new set of top rated helmets by Cleveland Browns players. The Maysville Panthers are the first of many lucky teams over the next five years to be fully outfitted in Xenith helmets.
After the reveal, as a part of the next "Browns Give Back" moment, the Cleveland Metropolitan School District was randomly selected to be the next recipient of a $25,000 donation of Xenith helmets.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base’s (WPAFB) 88th Air Base Wing have contracted with Woolpert for multiple architecture, engineering and geospatial projects at WPAFB.
The Dayton-based firm is preparing an area development plan (ADP) for one of the centers at the base, designing a heating system, rehabilitating two taxiways, and providing geospatial application and database support for the Air Force GeoBase program.
Woolpert signed a one-year, $4.7 million GeoBase contract last summer to provide consistent, cost-effective geospatial information across multiple installations. The GeoBase concept aims to achieve economies of scale through a “one installation, one map” plan.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Japan District, has contracted with Woolpert to provide architecture and engineering services in support of military design and planning at various locations in Japan.
This $90 million indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract is for one base year, plus four one-year option years. It is a shared total capacity contract, with 12 awardees.
“We’re honored to continue our design work with the USACE in Japan, whether it be in a joint venture or on our own,” said David Ziegman, Woolpert military market director and senior vice president.
The joint venture of Woolpert and KZF Design, W-KZF JV, was awarded three task orders totaling about $6.95 million to support the design of a $150 million CV-22 complex at Yokota Air Base in Fussa, Japan. Woolpert, working with Mound Technologies and Ferguson Construction, has designed a roughly 300,000-square-foot refrigerated distribution center for The Dannon Co. in Minster, Ohio. The approximately $25 million steel structure will have 50 dock doors and five penthouses for refrigeration equipment.
Woolpert provided structural steel design services for the Minster warehouse on a fast-track project delivery schedule, which allows construction to get underway as soon as individual bid packages are completed. This process compresses the project schedule, saving time and money.
